About me
My name is Max Fendt. I work as a photographer focusing on architecture, structure, and minimalist landscapes. I'm not interested in quick snapshots, but rather in what remains when you remove everything superfluous: lines, surfaces, light, and silence.
In my work, I try to slow down the gaze. Many of my motifs originate in large cities and alpine landscapes – but not as classic postcard images. I am interested in the boundary between built space and nature, between construction and stillness.
The idea behind the collections
The series on this website are deliberately kept small. Instead of showing as many motifs as possible, I concentrate on a few works that are intended to have an impact in large formats and shape spaces in the long term.
Urban Geometry
Urban Geometry explores the geometry of the city: facades, structures, steel, concrete. The motifs are minimalist, often in black and white, and detached from specific locations. It's not about tourist attractions, but about rhythm, structure, and the interplay of light and shadow.
Mountain Geometry
Mountain Geometry blends alpine landscapes with architecture. Buildings, walkways, and frames direct the gaze toward the mountains or across bodies of water. Nature appears not as a romantic backdrop, but as a serene, graphic surface. This series is particularly suited to spaces where nature and architecture play an equally important role—such as chalets, hotels, offices, or spacious living areas.
Limited Editions
All works on this website are published in limited editions of 25 copies per motif – regardless of size and format. Each print is hand-numbered and can be signed upon request. Once the edition is sold out, the motif will not be reproduced.
It is important to me that my work is not seen as decoration that can be reproduced at will, but rather as a long-term companion in a room. The limitation is part of this ambition.
Materials and production
The prints are produced in a specialized photo lab. Depending on the subject and format, I work with two main options:
– Fine art print on Hahnemühle paper with a matte, slightly textured surface
– Gallery print under acrylic glass with high depth effect and precise black tones
Each print is individually inspected before being packaged and shipped. The goal is an image that remains stable for many years.
Who these works are intended for
My work is intended for people and spaces that can tolerate tranquility: living spaces with a clear design, hotels and chalets, medical practices, offices, galleries and entrance areas where a single image can set the tone.
Many of the designs are deliberately created for large formats. They function not only as objects on the wall, but also as a quiet counterpoint to architecture, furniture, and daily life.
Collaboration and projects
In addition to the editions available in the shop, projects for hotels, offices, practices or private overall concepts are also possible on request – for example, the furnishing of several rooms with coordinated motifs from a collection.
If you have a planned wall, room, or project in mind, feel free to send me a photo or floor plan. Upon request, I can create a simple visualization of how the artwork could look in the space.
contact
If you have any questions about motifs, formats, projects or the individual furnishing of rooms, you can reach me at any time via the contact form.
I am pleased when my works not only fill spaces, but noticeably change them.
